Metaphorically refers to a macintosh apple, clipped to represent the Mac, a computer manufactured by the computer company, Apple. Used in a technological context to refer to those who use only a Mac computer. To call oneself a Mac is to say that one uses Apple computers exclusively, and likely uses the Apple iPhone, iPad, and iTouch as well.
Etymology : Apple's name for computers they manufacture, meant to represent a macintosh apple, no other obvious etymology
