- This term arose from the context of the Twilight book series and its cult following. In these books about vampires, the vampires shine in the sunlight as if their skin was covered with glitter. The main male character, an attractive vampire, is the object of many fangirls' desires, in many cases, of a sexual nature. The act of performing a HANDJOB on the main male vampire would leave these fangirls breathless and their hands AGLITTERED, hence, 'glitterjob'. This term has been metonymically applied to the fanaticism that would drive someone to want to have sex with a fictional character.
