3-capped

verb derivation
Jargon of the game series Super Smash Bros. It means how many lives you have left after you have defeated the opponent. In other words, 2-capping, 1-capping, etc. are also all common terms in the game. 3-capping means to kill someone and have 3 lives remaining.

Used freely in all smash tournaments, or in just daily game play. No special need to use the term #-capped, other than the fact that you must win. Synecdoche plays an important role in the word formation. As the head or cap represents the whole life of your player.
Etymology : It probably originated because during game play, the visual you see at the bottom of your screen is just the head, or the cap, of the person you are playing as. Therefore, when you win and have 3 heads, or caps, left at the bottom of the screen. Then, by derivation, the verb 3-capped evolved from having 3 caps left.
