acatramp (215)

noun; blending and clipping
trampoline in the Wiess courtyard
This term is a blending of the words ‘academic’ and ‘trampoline’, as well as a clipping of both words. It was coined by those at Wiess College who wanted to add character to such a simple and common object, by making it personal with the addition of ‘aca-‘ at the beginning (which is added to the beginning of all common things at Wiess like acaglider and acabowl). Only those associated with Wiess College at Rice University use this term.
Etymology : from Italian word ‘trampoline’ and Latin word ‘academic’
