Hackintosh

blending and clipping "hack" + "Macintosh"; proper noun
A hacking project to run Mac systems on an non-Apple computer

The blend serves to tell the exact purpose of the project, which is to hack a computer so that it would be able to run Macintosh applications. This also represents a case of metonymy, since the "-intosh" ending is presumed to represent all Macintosh applications designed to be run in the Hackintosh computer.
Etymology : Blend of the root "hack" and a clipped version of "Macintosh"
