Yeard

blending Noun
A beard that has been growing for exactly a year without being shaven

The definition of ‘yeard’ is easy to guess given that the word is a blend between ‘beard’ and ‘year’. Beard-growers seem to view a year as a milestone for their facial hair. It is a unit of standardization, so that different people can compare different results from the same timeframe. Another way to describe a yeard is a beard on its first birthday. It is thus easy to see that people tend to keep track of their facial hair’s progress uby recording exact dates. However, there does not seem to be a word to refer to a beard that has been growing for two years, or three years, or six months. In other words, a year seems to be the only important time period when it comes to beard-growing. The people most likely to be familiar with this word are those who are growing beards themselves. Less serious growers of facial hair, and people who don’t grow facial hair at all, probably won’t know the word because they don’t experience growing a beard for a year, so they will never need a word for it.
