- According to my source, it is common practice for people (especially girls) to maintain two Instagram accounts – one which is viewable by friends and family which projects a front of happiness and satisfaction with life, and one under a pseudonym shared only with close friends which allows for a more open and honest or dark and edgy persona. The word formation does not seem analogous to any other established words I am familiar with.
A fake Instagram account, generally juxtaposed with a real Instagram account where the user appears to be happy, sane, and socially normal.
Etymology : Blending of “fake” + “Instagram”
