A dog that will not stop barking. A dog with an uncontrollable urge to bark. This word was formed as a funny and clever way to tell someone that your dog barks alot and will not stop when you tell it to. This is similiar to alcoholism because an alcoholic drinks alot and will not easily stop when people him too.
Etymology : Clipping/blending of Bark and (alco)holic. The change from the 'o' in the middle of alcoholic to 'a' in barkaholic happened because it sounded and looked better because of the 'a' in bark.
