packetize

verb;
to make into a small package In Electrical Engineering, we refer to the packages of information that are transported as “packets.” Thus, it would be logical to refer to the action of making something into a packet as “packetize.” The speaker could have used a longer phrase, such as “your voice signal is made into a small packet,” to convey the same meaning, but everyone understood “packetize” within the context.

Your voice signal is packetized and sent through the system.
Etymology : ‘packet’ (a small package or bundle) + ‘ize’ (verb suffix)
