Man card

noun Analogy
A symbolic or metaphorical reference to (a man's) masculinity. The term "man card" probably comes from an analogy to a membership card to a club. In this case, the "man card" symbolizes a person's acceptance into the male community and can either be metaphorically "granted" for behaving as a male should or "taken away" for behaving in a less than manly fashion by another member of the male community. This term is used almost exclusively and somewhat frequently by males who belong to this "male community" to emphasize the qualities of manhood (or the lack thereof) in another man in an informal context. It was probably coined in order to make the community seem more exclusive as well as a way to verbally exclude, include and remove others from the community with ease.

"When he started talking about "Steel Magnolias" and how it was his favorite movie, I asked him to turn in his man card."
Etymology : Analogy to a club membership card (in this case the club would be manhood)
