- Here “jealous!” is clipped to “jealz.” The vowels at the end are removed and instead of it being spelled “jeals” it is spelled “jealz” with a z. This is consistent with an overall movement in online spellings where z's are used more commonly than s's. For instance instead of “lols”, most people would spell it “lolz”. This type of spelling formation encapsulates the tendency in internet-speak for intentional misspellings and misuse of grammar. While some of it may be unintentional, people find it humorous and creative to misspell and misuse grammatical rules. Very few of theses spellings however have made it out of their context as internet or text message spellings. The misspelling also serves to make the exclamation less serious. The jealousy is not harmful with the z and seems more benign.
