The state of being heavily intoxicated.
 
The origins of this term are somewhat vague. It is most commonly used in the South but has significantly disseminated as of late.
Etymology : Possibly a tmesis, or insertion, of the lexical unit “-izz” into the word “slurred,” (which indicates a state of drunkenness) to form “sl-izz-urred,” which is subsequently spelled or stylized as “slizzard.”
