- It’s me – I’m totally preggers
Preggers
adjective Blending
Pregnant, in a way suggesting indifference do the issue by the individual who is pregnant. The word is a diminutive form of the word pregnant. Preg- is clipped from pregnant and used as a root. The ending “-ers” is then added to the word. This ending is often used to form diminutive or derogatory words, such as bonkers. The extra ‘g’ is added to the word simply because most words in English ending in ‘g’ add a second ‘g’ when an ending such as ‘er’ is added to the word. Big becomes bigger, for example. Since the word was spoken and not written, the spelling is an approximation.
Etymology : blending of pregnant and ‘ers’, a diminutive or derogatory ending.
