Offense

verb zero derivation
To perform well on offense (as in football). This word is a zero derivation of the noun ‘offense’. Offense, which does not have a commonly used verb form, has been converted into a verb ‘to offense’, which has the rough meaning of performing well of offense (meaning when that team has control of the football). This term could be reasonably extended to any game or scenario in which there is an offense and defense.

Oregon is just out-offensing ASU right now. Offensing – is that a word?
Etymology : zero derivation of offense from a noun to a verb.
