noun; compounding
Important knowledge passed down to a novice from a veteran or expert.
 
Sometimes used belittlingly and sarcastically to underline common sense by thinly-veiling it as erudite advice. Thought to originate from the video gaming subculture.
Etymology : Compounding of the words “pro” and “tip.”
