BTJ (1)

acronym
“Back to Jones” college. A term used by members of Jones College at Rice University to explain that they will be traveling back to their residential college—whether it be by foot, bike, car, or airplane—after an event, social outing or vacation.

Students at Jones College are known for being lazy and it takes a rather longer amount of time to reach Jones from most places on campus (in comparison to the locations of the other residential colleges.) Therefore, rather than saying "why don't we go back to Jones?" every time they think about returning to their college, Jones College members simply ask "BTJ?" and it is completely understood by all other college members.
Etymology : An acronym for “Back To Jones”
