Overhearing conversation when someone is on the phone
 
Halfalogue is combination of half and dialogue. Dialogue is conversation between two people, but half means one-sided, thus halflogue is a conversation in only one side. Therefore, halfalogue is hearing one sided conversation of person who is on the phone.
Etymology : Half+gk. logue(speak)
