retartar
blending adjective
Used to describe something that is stupid or dumb, ridiculous; euphemism for “retarded”. The word “retarded”, whose original meaning reflected the state of those who were mentally challenged, is now used more commonly and casually to describe more trivial things as being useless or stupid. “Retartar” can be used as a more phonetically pleasing form of “retarded”, as it does not directly attribute the described noun with the negative and usually offensive connotations commonly associated with the mentally challenged. Due to the –tartar ending, it can sometimes be used with the noun “sauce”.
Etymology : “Retarded” + “Tartar sauce”. The latter has no significance in the meaning of the term; it is only used because there is a common “tar” between both parts. The “-tartar” repetition gives the term a lighter meaning.
