Mod (2)

noun Clipping
A purposeful, generally beneficial change made to something Mod was first heard online, but has uses in real life as well such as “Check out the mods I made on my computer!” When used in games, it’s generally used as an addition to the game you make from the outside of the game. For instance, you wouldn’t say “I put some mods on my base by buying towers,” but you would instead say “I added a mod to my game to give my base free towers.” This can also be used as a verb, such as “to mod a game.”

Check out the mod I made to the game! It shows me all the best locations for fishing so long as I’ve been there before.
Etymology : Clipping from modification, which in turn is from Latin modificationem “an alteration of an object to bring it up to date”
