Preemie

noun Clipping
A baby born before 37 weeks of being in the womb The term preemie is very widely used. The term doesn’t really have a positive or negative connotation past the danger of being underdeveloped when born. For instance, if someone I knew well told me that they were a preemie, I would only regard it as an interesting fact as opposed to a social stigma.

Sorry, I have to go to help deliver a preemie at the hospital.
