Unfriend

verb; derivation affixation
To end one's friendship with another

Likely to be used in a younger context to indicate changes in a younger person's complex social dynamic. Often used in a cyberspace context to refer to adding and deleting friends from social networking sites such as Facebook or Myspace. The term was likely coined to refer to this cyberspace context, as taking the word "friend" in a verb form to mean 'make friends with' was originally coined in that context as well.
Etymology : Old English element "freond" (to favor) became friend in Modern English plus prefix "un" (not)
