lavender-lovers

noun; compounding
"Lavender-lovers" is a noun that describes the relationship between two people usually after the high school years. This is not your ordinary relationship though. A couple that are "lavender-lovers" is a close relationship between a male and a female, in which one of the partners is homosexual. The term "lavender-lovers" does not mean that the couple is romantically involved, rather that the male and female hang out so much that the two could be mistaken for a couple if the onlooker did not know that one of them was homosexual. (Also see the word fag hag.)

"Kate and Drew are such lavender-lovers. You would think they were married by how much time they spend together, but isn't Drew gay?"
Etymology : Compounding of the words "lavender" and "lovers."
