Rickroll

verb; compounding
when an internet surfer is tricked into clicking on a link directing them to a video of Rick Astley singing his 1980's hit, "Never Gonna Give You Up." Usually this occurs on YouTube, and links to the Astley video are masked with different pictures and video titles.
 
Ha, that's not a video of two girls making out, you just got rickrolled!
Etymology : 'Rick' from first name of singer featured in video. 'Roll' possibly a different way of describing the pranking nature of the Rick Astley videos. Perhaps 'roll' is used in the sense of the common phrase ROFL, or rolling on the floor laughing. It may also be 'roll' in the sense that victim internet users are rolled over or totally tricked by the poster of the video.
