Murts

clipping Noun
Refers to a group of undergraduate or former students at Rice University who was assigned to the residential college Mcmurtry. No personal observations of a singular form, but would not be surprised if it exists.

Created first by metonomy that associates the students at the residential college commonly known as Mcmurtry, then by clipping of the first and last two letters. The word is likely caused as a result of the habit of referring to students at Rice in terms of the residential college that they are members of. The word has been observed being used to refer to such both by members of the group and by outsiders.
Etymology : Clipping from 'McMurtry'
