Get-off

verb; other word formation type metaphor
A reaction of an individual to another’s action that is perceived as being annoying.

Used largely in a situation with a high vocal projection to emit a sense of frustration or even fury. However, oftentimes this frustration is used jokingly or in a friendly manner when another is annoying them.
Etymology : A metaphorical usage of the two terms. Although not physically on an individual, the annoying actor is metaphorically on them. Thus there has been a transition from a literal to a metaphorical sense.
