This is a cuter way of saying jealous. Often girls will say to their boyfriends, "are you jelly?". Also, this can be a less obnoxious way of saying are you jealous; jelly sounds less serious and funnier. It is a slang that should not be used at formal occasions.
Etymology : Clipping of Jealous- dating back to gelus in 14th century- meaning suspicious and possessive
