dancing

zero derivation; auxiliary verb
to go to the NCAA Tournament

The term is used to refer to a team that has qualified for or been selected to play in the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Tournament is a 66-team tournament taking place in March, and teams can enter via a selection by a committee or winning one of the 34 automatic bids given to conference champions.
Etymology : The NCAA Tournament is nicknamed the Big Dance. While the origins of that term are not clear, the NCAA did trademark the phrase in 2000. Consequently, teams who are going to the NCAA Tournament say they're "Goin' Dancin'"
Source : I heard the term used on ESPN during their college basketball telecast with the phrase "Who's going dancing this year?" (11-9-2011)
