regret ceiling

blending noun
the perceived maximum amount of regret a person can feel in a day. When a person hits their regret ceiling, they are often very upset over the various happenings of the day. Alternatively, the regret ceiling is the point where a person stops feeling regret because the regret is too much to handle.

This term is reminiscent of the debt ceiling and arose after the debt of the United States grew to a point that it became a common conversation topic. This capitalizes on the rhyme between regret and debt.
Etymology : rhyming blend of ‘regret’ + ‘debt ceiling’
