a vessel to hold relics
 
used in a colloquially way even though it is a more scholarly term (my friend is a phd student)
Etymology : from French reliquaire (14c.), from Old French relique [OED]
Source : 12/1/2011 - Friend's facebook status Let's be real. If I had to pick a reliquary for myself, yeah, it'd look a lot like this one.
