baked

adjective zero derivation
another term for being be really high, usually from smoking marijuana. Characteristics of being baked include dry mouth, red eyes, and a sudden desire to consume large quanties of food

The term baked is commonly used among pot-users to describe how they’re feeling when they are extremely high. The term baked may have come into use because the imagery of lighting the joint, blunt, or whatever you are using to smoke with vaguely evokes the image of one lighting a stove or oven. Thus the person who is smoking is getting baked, similar to how a food item is baked when you light a stove. Other related words include stoned and lifted, and these imagery-based descriptions could have possibly served as analogical models.
