- Bumpin’ is a term commonly used among teenagers to describe how a particularly party, concert or other social event was. The term probably came into existence because when the speakers in a car are really loud, the bass sort of makes a bumping sound, and you can feel it throughout your heart and body. The word was formed by suffixation of the commonly used –in’ verb forming suffix onto the the noun/adj. bump, but the term bumpin’ is used as an adjective.
