prego

adjective clipping
The state of being pregnant. May also be used in the phrase "her eggo is prego" meaning she is pregnant, and specifically her egg is fertilized.

This is a clipping of the word pregnant. It came about by taking a part of the slogan "L'eggo my eggo" for a waffle brand and rhyming it with a form of the word pregnant, prego, so one could say "her eggo is prego." This was used as a clever, catchy, and hip way of saying a girl is pregnant.
Etymology : First used in the phrase "her eggo is prego" as a rhyming compound with the word prego as a clipping from the word pregnant. The word prego was then used alone as a clipping of the phrase "her eggo is prego."
Source : 2007 movie "Juno" in which one of the characters says, "Your eggo is prego!"
