internet etiquette This word, unlike digerati, is one that is circulated in tech circles. It does seem like the internet is a whole new media, and that old hardcopy rules and words don’t apply as neatly. Netiquette is a convenient blend adapted for the internet. It refers to etiquette practiced online, especially in regard to sending email messages. Many of the digital-age recalibrated words seem to be blends of common existing words with internet buzz words.
Etymology : Clipping/blend of (inter)net + (et)iquette. Etiquette from the French estiquet, 'label'
