Prostadude

noun; analogy
A male prostitute; a gigolo. I believe this neologism’s analogy to prostitute is more significant than its blending/compounding. The t’s in prostitute and d’s in dude are voiceless and voiced stops, respectively, and the tute syllable of prostitute and the word dude are thus very similar. Thus, while technically not a blend (since there’s a similar but not identical overlap,) one could think of it as such. The word itself emphasizes the fact the prostitute is male; prostitutes have traditionally been female, since women historically rarely paid for sexual services. This neologism is a witty, and perhaps more approachable, alternative to the established foreign word gigolo (the French masculine of the word for prostitute.)

You know, a prostadude, a man-whore, a he-bitch.
Etymology : Prost(itute) + a ‘linker morpheme’ + dude. Prostitute, from Latin prostituere ‘to expose to prostitution, expose publicly,’ from pro- ‘before’ + statuere ‘cause to stand, establish.’ (
