mind over bladder

blending noun phrase
willing yourself not to need to use the restroom. Often employed on long car trips when only one person needs to go or in situations where the person feels awkward going to the bathroom, such as during a formal presentation.
 
Similar to mind over matter, a phrase that says that if you put you put your mind to something, you can overcome anything. In the case of mind over bladder, you would use your mind to overcome the need to urinate.
Etymology : Blend of ‘mind over matter’ + ‘bladder’
