Webcamming

verb Word Formation type: Suffixation and Novel Creation
The action of using a webcam to video chat with someone through the internet.

This word developed after the actual invention of the "webcam" became more popular through the creation of several videochat programs like Skype, Oovoo, MSN Messenger etc. A similar, more common term to describe this action would be "Videochatting" which is itself a neologism. Most likely, the development of this word arose because people felt the need to specify that they are using a webcam to chat online.
Etymology : Noun 'webcam' + derivational ending '-ing'
