popular, not technical; verb
The past tense of ‘to tweet.’ To tweet is to make a posting or status update using Twitter.
 
Replaces the potential past tense use of tweet-ed or twitter-ed by adding the –ed suffix to change the verb tense.
Etymology : -at seems to be an informal and slang suffix denoting a past tense of a verb.
Source : During a round table lunch conversation one participant said that he twat a link to music video.
