Whangsta

noun; blending
One who pretends to be a gangster. The rapper probably used this word to mock all the people who pretend to be gangster, when they really aren’t. Thus, knowing the slang word whack, meaning appalling in nature and also crazy or ridiculous, he blended it with the word gangster to form a word meaning whack gangster. He was able to do this with ease because the “k” sound at the end of whack and the “g” sound at the beginning of gangster are both velar stops. Thus, the only difference between the two is that the “k” is voiceless, while the “g” is voiced. In addition, whangsta rhymes well in his song, whereas the two words whack and gangster would not have rhymed as well.
