- Often times, whether in text messaging or posting messages on an online forum, people tend to send messages before they have completed their intended thought. Therefore, in a subsequent post (does not necessarily have to occur in an edited version of the original message), the author will state their additional thoughts after writing "ETA". This is a must faster way of expressing this meaning and is now becoming very understandable by those who browse internet forums often. Also, a subsequent message using ETA does not have to add content or thoughts to the original message. It can simply be a correction of the original message.
