ETA

verb; acronym
An acronym meaning "edited to add"

Often times, whether in text messaging or posting messages on an online forum, people tend to send messages before they have completed their intended thought. Therefore, in a subsequent post (does not necessarily have to occur in an edited version of the original message), the author will state their additional thoughts after writing "ETA". This is a must faster way of expressing this meaning and is now becoming very understandable by those who browse internet forums often. Also, a subsequent message using ETA does not have to add content or thoughts to the original message. It can simply be a correction of the original message.
Etymology : from the first three letters of the phrase "edited to add"
Source : "ETA: I made a typo on the previous email." (from an email exchange with lab partner, November 27, 2011)
