janky

adjective;
A term used to describe something that is questionable, laughable, and of inferior quality. Apparent meaning: An adjective used to describe something that is of inferior quality, questionable, or undesirable. It is a variation of the term jank, an adjective that means of poor quality. Jank is spelled similar to and sounds like junk, indicating that junk might have undergone a spelling change and become jank; the two words are even similar in meaning. The term janky contains the suffix “-y,” signifying that it means that which is characterized by jank, or poor quality. Reason used: The group wanted an amusing, informal phrase to describe the silliness of starting a high school facebook group. Lame and stupid are overused and unoriginal, whereas janky is refreshing and original. Furthermore, janky is somewhat more obscure than jank, which makes it more appealing to teenagers, who enjoy using novel formations.

WTF? Does anyone else think that the concept of a high school facebook is janky?
Etymology : jank + y
