- This term is a blending of the words ‘academic’ and ‘trampoline’, as well as a clipping of both words. It was coined by those at Wiess College who wanted to add character to such a simple and common object, by making it personal with the addition of ‘aca-‘ at the beginning (which is added to the beginning of all common things at Wiess like acaglider and acabowl). Only those associated with Wiess College at Rice University use this term.
