IDL

verb Acronym
describes a state of intense laughter.

: IDL is an acronym formed by taking the initials of “I Die Laughing”. It is another form of “lol”, “lmfao”, and “rofl”. But it isn’t as commonly used as them possibly because the acronym hasn’t gone viral in the online world. It is used in response of an amusing situation whether it’s from a friend telling you a racist joke or someone hurting themself by slipping on the floor. It’s likely to be most commonly used among teenagers who use the internet frequently. Although it’s not so popular yet, we will occasionally encounter the acronym.
Etymology : Computer chat abbreviation/acronym of “I Die Laughing”.
