shup

verb; blending
To stop talking or to become quiet. This word was most likely created because the phrase “shut up” was considered too mean and rude of a way to tell an individual to quiet down. The two words “shut” and “up” were thus combined to portray a more playful and less serious tone while still expressing its intention.

Etymology : Blend of ‘shut’ and ‘up;’ shut (v.) + up (adv.) originally meant "keep from view or use"
