Linsanity

noun; blending
Excitement over NBA player Jeremy Lin. First used by the press in February of 2012 to describe his sudden rise to fame during his series of top scoring games with the New York Knicks. Other Lin puns were also popular, including lincredible, linspiring, and even linjured.
 
Linsanity lights up New York.
Etymology : Blend of Lin, a last name, and insanity from the Latin word for unhealthfulness "insanitatem"
