crack

noun; analogy
A type of fictional writing that is written at the spur of the moment and is usually incoherent but entertaining nonetheless. In the fanfiction community, writers will sometimes like to let their imaginations run wild and just write about their favorite series or character in a short amount of time. Since it is written spontaneously and is almost never edited or spellchecked, it usually does not make any sense. However, the writer is generally in a very good mood, so the story is very light-hearted and amusing, but still very odd. Many people believe that the stories produced under these conditions would be similar if one were to take crack cocaine and then write something down. Thus, a metaphor extends the hallucinations and wild behavior of those taking crack cocaine with the odd and spontaneous stories of fanfiction writers.
