roasted
adjective; folk etymology; slang
To get incredibly drunk, to the point of unconsciousness. Another term for "blackout drunk". A slang term that has little to do with its original meaning, which was to "cook by dry heat".
Etymology : Comes from the Old High German word "rosten", to "cook on a grate". A combination of the verb "roast" and the suffix "-ed".
