Etymology : hyper ‘over, above, beyond, to excess’ + -ly (adverbial suffix). Hyper is from Greek hyper- ‘over, beyond, over much, above measure’ (prep. And adv.), from PIE *super- ‘over’. -ly is found in Middle English, from Old English –lice, from Proto-Germanic *-liko-.
