nodel

noun
a person who attempts to model, but whose efforts are unsatisfactory

Often, the models chosen for low-budget campaigns are “nodels” because the quality of their modeling and their photos is low. The term has a negative connotation and would be an insult to those aspiring to be models.
Etymology : Blend of the words “not” and “model”; “not” is a negative participle from the 1300s, and “model” from Italian modello meaning “mold or form”
Source : A friend was commenting on the candidates on America’s Next Top Models, saying that some of them were “nodels.” (11/3/13)
