an exercise routine that combines Pilates exercises and the breathing and moves from Yoga
 
People enjoyed the higher intensity of Pilates, but also wanted the flexibility that comes with practicing yoga, therefore there was a demand for a routine that incorporated both types of exercise.
Etymology : blend of the words “yoga” and “pilates”; “Yoga” comes from Hindi yoga and Sanskrit yoga-s meaning “union, yoking,” and “Pilates” was named after its creator, Joseph Pilates, in 1980.
