Architectronica

proper noun; blending
This refers to a party held in Rice University’s Anderson Hall, home to Rice’s School of Architecture, where electronic music is played.

“ME AGAIN. ARCHITECTRONICA NOW. IT’S HELLA TIGHT. COME RAGE.”
Etymology : This appears to come from clippings of the words architect, a person who plans and oversees the construction of buildings (in this case, it refers more specifically to Rice students majoring in architecture) and electronica, electronically made music, blended together. Architect is from either French architecte or Italian architetto, from Latin architectus, which is from the Greek ἀρχιτέκτων (ἀρχι- (archi- ‘chief, principle’) + τέκτων), meaning ‘builder’ or ‘craftsmen’, and electronica comes from electronic (music instrument that makes sounds according to electronic principles instead of by mechanical vibration) + -a (noun-forming suffix)
